Last updated: 1 November 2026 · Classily

The short version. Classily has no account and no login. Your timetable, notes, photos, worksheets, recordings and homework stay on your device and in your own iCloud. We run no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind, and we never sell anything to anyone.

One feature sends anything off your device: the AI assistant, and only at the moment you ask it something. That is set out in full below, because it is the part that deserves the detail.

Who we are

Classily is published by Jason Fung (Hong Kong). Contact: weskys@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

All of the following is stored on your device, and — if you are signed in to iCloud — in your own private iCloud container. That is your Apple account and your storage. We have no access to it and no ability to read it.

The AI assistant — exactly what happens

This is the only feature that transmits anything, and only in response to a deliberate action by you. Nothing is sent in the background, on a schedule, or while the app is idle.

When it happens

If you never use those features, nothing about you or your work ever leaves your device.

What is sent

We do not send your recordings, your homework list, your calendar, your contacts, your location, or any advertising identifier. There is no advertising identifier in this app at all.

Who processes it

The request goes to our own endpoint, which holds the AI service key so it is not exposed inside the app, and is passed straight on to Google's Gemini API, which generates the answer and returns it.

What is kept

What it is never used for

Not for advertising. Not for marketing. Not for analytics or profiling. Not to build any profile of you or your schoolwork. Never sold, rented, or shared with a data broker.

Fair-use counting

So that one person cannot exhaust the AI service for everybody, we count how many AI requests each installation makes per day. For that purpose and no other, our server stores:

WhatWhyHow long
A random identifier created when the app is installedTo apply the daily limit to one installationDeleted after 7 days; discarded entirely when you delete the app
A one-way hash of the network address a request came from — not the address itselfTo stop the daily limit being bypassed automaticallyDeleted after 7 days
A count of requests made that dayTo apply the daily limitDeleted after 7 days

The installation identifier is generated randomly on your device. It is not derived from your phone, is not an advertising identifier, and is not connected to your name, your email or any account — there is no account to connect it to. It is never shown to anyone, never sold, and never combined with anything else to identify you.

These counters never contain the content of a question, a note, or a photo.

How this maps to the App Store privacy labels

For clarity, this is what the app's App Store privacy label reflects, and why. Every item is not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.

CategoryWhat it refers toPurpose
Identifiers — Device IDThe random installation identifier and the hashed network address used for fair-use limitsApp functionality; preventing abuse
Usage Data — Product InteractionThe daily count of AI requestsApp functionality; preventing abuse
User Content — Other User ContentA question you send to the AI, and any note extracts you choose to includeApp functionality — producing the answer you asked for

Audio is deliberately absent: recordings and their transcription never leave the device.

Classily on Android

The Android app handles your data in the same way, with these differences:

Camera, photos and microphone

The camera is used only when you choose to photograph a board, a worksheet or a timetable. The photo library is read only for images you pick yourself. The microphone is used only while you are actively recording a lesson. None of these are accessed in the background.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details, your name, or your Apple Account. Apple tells the app only whether a valid subscription exists.

Age

Classily is intended for secondary school students and above. It is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone. There is no social feature, no messaging between users, no user-to-user content, and no public profile.
